Ed joined Accreate in 2016 to build the financial services and public sector practices, which have now become key growth areas for the business. Ed has a very deep and broad understanding of the dynamics of both the public sector and the financial services industry as well as a very strong network both in Ireland and internationally that can be leveraged to assist clients in these sectors.
Before joining Accreate, Ed served as Chief of Staff to the Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland (Tánaiste) where he was responsible for all financial, economic, tax and budgetary matters. In this role he had primary responsibility for negotiating with his coalition partners the structure and content of the Government’s annual budget of €55bn each year. He was also one of the Government leads in negotiating with the Troika (EU Commission, IMF, ECB) on Ireland’s successful bailout programme. Previously Ed held several management positions in the energy and telecoms industries in both Ireland and Europe. He also worked as a senior associate at solicitors Arthur Cox and started his career at Dublin law firm William Fry. Ed has a law degree and a master’s degree in economics from Trinity College, Dublin.
