Founded in 1985, Horseware Ireland has grown into one of the world’s leading consumer branded equestrian goods companies. They are a global brand leader with wholly owned facilities in USA, China and Cambodia, all supported by the Irish based headquarters. Horseware revenues have doubled, growing to €40m in the last 10 years. Underpinned by their market leading position and financial strength, they have embarked on a transformational growth phase, with ambitious and clear revenue goals over the next 5 years. In March 2021, Horseware Ireland secured significant investment from Lonsdale Capital Partners, the London based private equity firm with strong Irish links. In addition, the leadership team, led by CEO Mark Saunders, have also invested in the company.
We were approached to identify and secure a world class Chief Commercial Officer, with the remit to be the executive lead for all commercial activities within the Group. This was a global executive role within the Horseware Ireland Group.
Working closely with and reporting to the CEO, this role would be an integral and essential part of the delivery of sustainable growth across all business locations and the Group as a whole. They were looking for someone to establish and lead the vision of the global commercial function and global team.
This was a hugely exciting time to join Horseware Ireland. We wanted someone coming from a similar sector with a comparable brand calibre background. Leveraging our market leading inhouse research team, we scanned the Luxury Apparel/Clothing, Textiles and Lifestyle Sports sector across multiple geographies including Ireland, Europe, and the United States. Ultimately, we secured a Chief Commercial Officer who brings significant pedigree and experience across a number of global sporting brands.
