Where he is:

Neil O. Sands is CEO and Founder of Fox Design a global applied design thinking firm working with high-growth organisations to lead large-scale digital disruption. Currently co-authoring a book BelongINC on Belonging and Digital Transformation with his sister Dr. Anita Sands, Neil is a published writer and is a regular contributor on applied design, innovation, and DIBs (Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging). Neil is a leader within the Irish Community, holding board positions with several non-for-profit, philanthropic and voluntary organizations, and won the IC Top 40 Under 40 Award in 2015.

Where he has been:

Before his most recent exit at pioneering insurtech startup Trōv (Google & Oak-funded $85M) in 2017, Neil co-founded and led the digital transformation team Ignite at Salesforce as the company’s youngest Global Vice President. There he was responsible for a global team of applied design-thinkers, who engage at c-level with Fortune 100 customers, and later assumed the role of Chief Experience Officer (CXO). During his tenure, the Ignite methodology was patented and scaled across Salesforce as the company’s consultative selling motion. Ignite acquired several leading design-thinking agencies in the US and Europe, and grossed over $600M in new revenue, growing from three hires to hundreds of customer-facing transformation experts globally. Reporting to CEO Marc Benioff on key accounts, Neil was given the company’s Peak Performance award in 2016. Salesforce was awarded Forbes’ Most Innovative Company 4 years running.

Neil has formulated and delivered end-to-end disruptive innovations for some of the world’s largest organisations: AT&T, Coca-Cola, Starwoods Hotels, Caesars Resorts, United, Burberry, TicketMaster and most famously; Tinder for the 7 billion dollar Disney princess franchise. Prior to this, Neil worked for several years in Canadian banking, leading digital transformation and social strategies, before transitioning to San Francisco with Accenture Global Management Consulting, where he patented applied design thinking methodologies. In 2012, Neil made his first start-up exit from the Facebook development firm, Syncapse; having received $25M in funding ABS Capital. Neil joined Framehawk (acquired by Citrix); a NASA-powered mobility startup, where he led mobile product innovation.

Neil holds an undergraduate degree in Advanced Mathematics, Statistics and History; and having completed master’s studies in the US; an ACL MBA from University College Dublin.
